Roman Era Iron Legionary Pilum Spear and Spike (Lizard Sticker) missing wooden shaft (lost to time) battlefield ground dug at Battle of Naissus (Present day Niš) - Goths vs. Romans 268-269 A.D. – Roman Legion Legio VII Claudia from VIMINACIUM or Legio IIII Flavia from SIRMIUM led by commander Claudius II Gothicus - Emperor Gallienus (or Emperor Claudius II Gothicus) and the future Emperor Aurelian - defeated the Gothic Coalition lead by Goth Commander Cniva - in Balkan Provence of Provincia Moesia Superior & Pannonia Roman Empire. This was a very important battle for the Romans. The result was a great Roman victory which, combined with the effective pursuit of the invaders in the aftermath of the battle and the energetic efforts of the future Emperor Aurelian, largely removed the threat from Germanic tribes in the Balkan frontier for the following decades. Very good condition with nice green patina. Metal detector find which has been professionally cleaned and conserved with special wax. Pictures provided of item found "in situ" in ground dug condition before cleaned and restored.
